The annual Silver IT Fest is back this year and hopes to encourage more seniors aged 50 and above to adopt a digital lifestyle and enjoy the benefits that infocomm technology brings.
The event, formerly known as Silver Infocomm Day which began in 2007 as a one-day event, now stretches from October 1 to 11, 2015. Last year’s one-week event saw 5,000 attendees. This year’s event will comprise of free seminars at Nanyang Polytechnic, and affordable and customised IT workshops with a wide range of topics including blogging, e-travel, social networking and more. Each hands-on IT workshop will last three-and-a-half hours and is led by an experienced trainer and supported by adult and student volunteers.
This year's Silver IT Fest will have seminars, IT workshops and an exhibition.
There will also be an exhibition showcasing the latest in technology solutions, apps and more. Seniors and their families will be able to try out different infocomm-related activities, such as building robots or playing games, as well as getting great deals on products and gadgets.
