Go hot pink to raise breast cancer awareness

by | September 12, 2014

Empower yourself for emergency situations and support breast cancer awareness.

These pink wristbands will only be available from mid-September.

Singapore start-up TagBio has chosen the Breast Cancer Foundation (BCF) as its preferred charity to support. The company will donate half of the proceeds from the sale of ID-Life, its groundbreaking QR code-based medical identification wristband, in customised pink to BCF during Breast Cancer Awareness Month (BCAM) in October 2014. From mid-September till end-October, these pink ID-Life wristbands will be available at 30 bike shops and certain Royal Sporting House outlets in Singapore.

ID-Life is designed to provide first responders access to individuals’ name, blood type, next-of-kin contact information and allergy history in emergency situations through a unique, scannable QR code engraved on the wristband. Accredited paramedics and doctors anywhere in the world can download an application from the iOS App Store or Android’s Google Play to gain access to individuals’ full profiles, which include details such as pre-existing health conditions and medication history.

Anch Ong, COO of TagBio, said, “… By strapping on the pink ID-Life wristband, the public can show their support for BCAM in a very visible way and at the same time empower themselves for emergency situations.”

Other colours of ID-Life are currently being retailed.
