Woman after your own heart

The Singapore Heart Foundation contest hopes to empower women to take charge of their heart health.

Do you know of a woman who makes a conscious effort to take extra care of her heart? What about a woman who inspires the people around her to take charge of their heart health? If there is one such inspiring lady in your life, take a moment to acknowledge her efforts and spread the word by participating in the ‘Woman after my own heart’ tribute contest organised by the Singapore Heart Foundation (SHF).

Based on a survey conducted in 2013, there is relatively low awareness that heart disease is one of the top 2 leading causes of death for Singaporean women.

Through the ‘Woman after my own heart’ tribute contest, the Singapore Heart Foundation hopes to gather inspiring stories and harness the collective efforts of women – in empowering other women to take charge of their heart health, by working together to reduce and eliminate heart disease.

So take a moment now to honour that inspiring lady in your life, by submitting a photo of her dressed in red, and share in no more than 200 words how she takes care of her heart or how she has inspired you and the people around her to stay heart healthy.

The ‘Woman after my own heart’ tribute contest will culminate at the Go Red for Women roadshow in April 20 to 26, 2015 at Bishan Junction 8 atrium, Level 2, where 12 shortlisted entries will be showcased. Judged based on creativity, content, originality and relevance to theme, all 12 winners will take home prizes such as $100 cash to iPads and a watch.

So how to participate?

1. E-mail the photo (in jpeg format of at least 300 dpi or higher), together with your write-up, as well as your name, NRIC number and contact number to: grfw@heart.org.sg.

2. The contest closes on February 28, 2015 (Saturday) at 11.59pm.

3. The winning entries will be published on www.myheart.org.sg and on SHF’s Facebook page. Winners will be contacted via the contact details provided.

The terms and conditions of this contest can be read on SHF’s website.
